Fairy Light Lampshades

  • By Susanne 44 Fisherton Street Salisbury, England United Kingdom (map)

During this fun and relaxed two-hour workshop, you will make a set of charming miniature lampshades for a string of fairy lights.

Fairy lights are not just for Christmas. Whether you choose festive fabrics, soft neutrals or bold patterns, these miniature lampshades can be designed to complement your home all year round. This workshop is all about experimenting with colour, pattern and fabric combinations, and enjoying the process of creating your own unique set of illuminated shades.

ON THE DAY

  • Explore how to combine fabrics, colours and patterns to create a cohesive set of fairy light lampshades.

  • Learn the techniques used to make miniature lampshades using hard PVC backing.

  • Attach your finished shades to a string of fairy lights.

  • Make 10 miniature lampshades, designed to fit a 20-light string.

  • All materials, lights and batteries are included.

YOUR IDEAS

If you have a particular project or colour scheme in mind, please get in touch before booking and we can discuss whether it is suitable for the workshop.

I am happy to advise on fabric choices if you would like to bring your own. Cotton works particularly well, although many other textiles can be used successfully. I generally recommend avoiding silk, as it can separate from the backing over time.
