As part of Modern Makers Collective Summer School join Aimée Alice Payton for a creative workshop where you will make a stunning freestanding drum lampshade with a built-in lampholder fitting and little legs. No need for a separate base.
TO BOOK
ON THE DAY
You will be introduced to the materials, tools, and fabric choices needed to create your own lampshade.
You will receive hands-on, step-by-step instruction as you build your lamp, with expert guidance from Aimée on neatly finishing and assembling the lampshade for a polished, professional look.
You will learn how to carefully apply fabric to a lampshade frame, achieving smooth, crisp edges.
Aimée will guide you through assembling the integral lampholder fitting and finishing touches.
Delicious lunch options are available and if you book this and the afternoon scalloped lampshade workshop you get a free lunch.
YOUR IDEAS
Please feel free to discuss with me any specific ideas in advance and I can let you know if they are feasible. I am happy to advise on fabrics as well. Cotton works best but many other textiles work too but I recommend avoiding silk as it will come away from the backing over time.
CANCELLATIONS
Unfortunately Modern Maker Collective are unable to offer refunds 28 days before the workshop starts unless another person is able to take the place. Contact me directly if you are no longer able to attend and I will endeavor to find someone else.
